Norbert Wolf in “Romanticism”

“The term [Romanticism] covered a range of ideas: that nature was informed with the divine spirit and that the individual human imagination could immerse itself in the universal fabric; but also that the creative mind, being profoundly solitary, would yearn for harmony between man and nature.”

–In many ways, I view my photography as part of a ‘New Romanticism.’ One that is growing in reaction to our technological age just as the first flowering of Romanticism grew in reaction to the industrial revolution…
